Starting with cardboard templates, a plywood mock up was fashioned. A full size blueprint was then drawn from the mock up, and the frame & door pieces were made from tracings taken from the drawing. The frame parts were assembled and dry fit on the boat, new measurements were taken, and an adjustable mock up was made, taken to the boat, and fine tuned for a precise fit.
Based on the adjusted final mock up, the frame was ready for assembly, and we were finally ready to fashion the door pieces and assemble them as well.
Now we were ready for the Natural Teak finish, mortising in the hinges, and placing the windows, and the drip shield.
And last but certainly not least, the final installation!
